With was caught chatting and sending a shirtless picture

With the introduction of modern technologies, people become deprived of rights for privacy. Nowadays, numerous surveillance camera surrounds people outdoors as well as in different institutions, moreover, modern applications and social networks are able to reveal almost all information one believes to be confidential. Thus, privacy rights of American citizens are often violated and their privacy interrupted. The Constitution of the United States in its original form does not contain an express right to privacy. That is why, the Bill of Rights reflects numerous privacy issues as “the privacy of beliefs (1st Amendment), privacy of the home against demands that it be used to house soldiers (3rd Amendment), privacy of the person and possessions as against unreasonable searches (4th Amendment), and the 5th Amendment’s privilege against self-incrimination, which provides protection for the privacy of personal information” (The Right of Privacy). The Constitution with all its amendments still protects rights of the US citizens; still, there are numerous limitations causes because of modern technologies development. The Patriot Act is the other document protecting the privacy of American people; still, it is not as efficient as needed. One of the several issues that have been in the news within the last 15 years concerning rights to privacy is a scandal with Chris Lee. The Article with the title “Married GOP Congressman Sent Sexy Pictures to Craigslist Babe” was published by Gawkers (gossip news website) journalist Maureen O’Connor on 02/09/2011 (O’Connor, 2011).  Republican congressman Christopher Lee was caught chatting and sending a shirtless picture to a female Craigslist user in the “Women Seeking Men” forum. Short after the Gawkers’ publication, the “happily-married” congressman resigned. The fact is that the married Republican did not anything prohibited by law. He was not caught cheating his wife or committing adultery in any other way. He was just sending a picture, of course, it was shirtless and sent to another woman, but would anyone care if he was not the politician. The fact is that privacy of Mr. Lee was violated with the help of technologies and as a result ruined the career of a prosperous politician.  Despite the fact that there is little information on how the Gawkers obtained the information about Christopher Lee, such revealing of personal correspondence of any person whether he or she is a congressman, a teacher, a lawyer or students, should be considered a violation of privacy and interruption into the private life of a person. The privacy issue should be drawn where it concerns personal relations of one person with another unless it is a violent treatment of others. That is revealing of such information (messaging with someone) should not be done by anyone, unless it contains some threats. It is necessary to underline the impact of historical thought and tradition towards rights of a married person to communicate with a person of opposite sex. Cheating, adultery, and flirt were reasons for numerous scandals among the US politicians: yet in an 18th-century affair of Alexander Hamilton and Maria Reynolds was widely discussed, Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky resulted in his impeachment, and those are just a few examples of interruption into personal lives of politicians. Although these examples have no connection to technologies, they all had a negative impact not only on the political life of the politicians revealed but also on their personal life.  Despite the guarantees for privacy state documents give, nowadays people often suffer because of their privacy rights violation. Politicians are probably the most vulnerable people when it concerns their privacy in terms of personal life or career. Surveillance cameras are located everywhere and almost everyone can watch a video of one walking on the Times Square or Broadway. Unfortunately, it is difficult to punish someone for privacy violation; moreover, victims of such actions can never receive proper compensation as their life is often ruined.
